I explore the serene beauty of Rookwood Cemetery, a space where nature and history intertwine. The grasses and wildflowers that bloom around the graves contrast strikingly with the cold permanence of metal and stone, creating a dialogue between the natural and the man-made. This juxtaposition reflects my fascination with the passage of time and the resilience of nature. The wild grass, left to grow freely, symbolises the cycle of life and death, while the graves serve as a poignant reminder of individual stories that shape our collective memory.
Through my lens, I aim to capture not just images, but the peacefulness that envelops this space. Each photograph invites the viewer to pause and reflect, encouraging a deeper connection to both the beauty and transience of life. Inside these handmade books is the opportunity to experience this unique place, otherwise unseen.
